At least two people had attempted to piece this egg back together rather unsuccessfully. On the left a picture before treatment. Below a picture after the completed treatment.
Object: An egg from the extinct elephant bird.
Approximate size: ca. 30cm. long
Condition: Broken in to very many pieces. In the past there have been several attempts to bond the pieces back together, none very successful. At least three different types of old adhesive were found all over the pieces.
Suggested treatment: the object was cleaned and the old glue removed before it was minutely pieced together.
